The Professional Squash Association (PSA) is the global governing body responsible for the administration of both men's and women's professional squash around the world.

With over 1,350 registered players and more than 200 events taking place around the globe every year, the PSA World Tour and the PSA Challenger Tour - both managed and run by the PSA - showcases the game of squash at its highest level in some of the world's most unique and stunning locations.

To accelerate the growth of the professional game, the PSA has set up a commercial subsidiary, Squash Media & Marketing (SMM), which is responsible for all event, marketing and media related matters in relation to the PSA World Tour and PSA Challenger Tour.

SMM is now looking for a dedicated media executive to take the lead on the Challenger Tour and join the wider PR & Media team based in The Calls area of Leeds City Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with the PR & Media Manager and the wider PR & Media team, the Challenger Tour Media Executive will have primary responsibility for overseeing all aspects of media management across the Challenger Tour, including, but not limited to;

Leading on Challenger Tour coverage to increase the publicity of all events on the calendar from writing match reports to composing feature interviews for written and video channels.
Managing associated Challenger Tour social media channels and leading on ideations to grow said channels
Undertake the necessary monitoring and evaluation activities in order to determine the success or otherwise of content strategies.
Attending selected Challenger Tour events to provide ontheground coverage across written, social and video channels.
Managing media operations at selected Challenger Tour events creating and distributing daily press releases to local media, conducting video interviews with players and providing media support to tournament promoters.
Manage media operations at selected PSA World Tour events create and distribute daily press releases to local media, conduct video interviews with players, provide media support to tournament promoters, produce behind the scenes video content for social media and work with SQUASHTV onsite to create additional 'shoulder' content for use across digital platforms.
Respond to all media enquiries in a timely and accurate manner

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
-

Solid understanding of sport.
Exceptional written communications skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, confident and energetic.
Strong understanding of digital media
Experience managing social media channels
Video and photo editing skills
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, and willingness to 'pitch in' as required in a small organisation.
Willingness to work outside normal office hours and to be on call as required during evenings and weekends to handle media enquiries.
Willingness to travel frequently

Desirable

Degree educated in relevant discipline (media production, journalism, media technology, video editing, marketing)
Understanding of Adobe Software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Premier or equivalent.
Knowledge of squash
