Facilities Manager - Manchester - Salary up to £45,000 + Package

About the Company

We are looking for a Hard Services Biased Facilities Manager for a UK Wide Estate who will be based at the organisations Head Office in Manchester.

There are currently six buildings Including Edinburgh and London which will need to be visited and requires someone who is happy to get out and about.

Due to growth and expanding they require a Facilities Manager to look after the maintenance and repairs across the estate, and any further buildings acquired over the next few years.

You will work closely with the wider operations managers on these sites.

Facilities Manager - The Rewards

  • Up to £45,000
  • Benefits: 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays),
  • This person will manage their own time and happy to be flexible on hours & remote working (e.g. a couple of days a week)

Facilities Manager - Requirements

  • Good Communication Skills Written and Verbal
  • Delivered small works projects
  • Commercial P/L or Budgetary experience
  • Managed HVAC /M&E PPM or Reactive works
  • Health & Safety Qualifications required
  • Tendering or estimating experience would be desirable
  • CAFM monitoring and reporting experience is essential
  • Able to Drive desirable
  • Willing to work away from home as and when required
  • Live within 25 miles of Manchester or willing to relocate to the area.

Facilities Manager - Responsibilities

  • The FM will be visiting sites, typically on a scheduled basis (unless reactive visits are required). This typically would be spending 2 days in the one location as required.
  • Communication of information is paramount to success in this role using the CAFM and platforms to ensure the teams are aware of any proposed works to their buildings, so the operation can accommodate as required
  • For buildings that are further afield (e.g. London, Edinburgh) accommodation and transport will be covered
  • CAFM software is used and the teams can access the system to log maintenance needs.
  • This role will work closely with their Health & Safety Manager
  • Managing 3rd party maintenance contracts, and negotiating with new suppliers and contractors
  • Involved in getting quotes for projects works required
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of equipment, stock and critical spares
  • Undertake monthly inspections of each site, providing a full analysis to the board of Directors, identifying problem areas, and creating an action plan for their improvement.
  • Complete any general repairs that are required onsite
  • Responsible for the PPM schedule
  • Commercially astute and ahead of the curve with new systems or technologies (IOT)
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard, on time and within budget
  • Maintaining the HQ premises and warehousing storage
  • Ensure the physical assets of the sites are maintained to a high standard
  • Implement maintenance procedures and controls and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual operating and capex budget and take ensure costs are controlled within the budget parameters


This role would suit a Facilities Manager, Estates Manager, Head of Estates, Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, TFM, or a Facilities Assistant looking to take a step up into a bigger role.
