    Business Development Executive

    London

    Full time, Permanent

Salary: £35,000 to £45,000, plus 20% bonus scheme

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Executive to join our Corporate Development team.

    About the role:

We are looking for an ambitious Business Development Executive to help us generate new income from the mid-market.

You will secure new clients for the CII Group, with a particular focus on regional broker and advisory firms in insurance and financial planning. You will also build new business with our existing clients by promoting the range and value of the CII Group's products and services to them.

You'll be someone who can capitalise on first introductions to build relationships for the longer term. You'll work effectively with colleagues internally – across our marketing, customer service, engagement and learning functions – to ensure we can create and fulfil opportunities for growth in your target market.

In time you'll review and evaluate how things are done, drawing on your own and others' expertise and experience to develop new ideas that will help achieve business goals.

    About you:

To be successful in this role you will have a good knowledge of the insurance and financial planning professions; as well as knowledge of the trends and changes within the market and in working practices (including how they impact on clients' needs).

We are looking for someone who has the ability to turn goals into practical and achievable actions and someone that sets themselves and others clear targets.

The role holder will be able to demonstrate experience of working in the Insurance and Financial Services market, experience of B2B sales and/or relationship management and managing a successful sales portfolio.

You will also possess several transferable skills including excellent presentation, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills and have a proven ability to build effective commercial relationships.
