Torbay Pharmaceuticals are currently recruiting for a Head of Quality to join our head office based in Paignton. This is a full time and permanent role in which the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Quality department, (including Operational Quality Assurance, Supplier Approval, and Quality management system)ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the highest standards of quality across all aspects of the business.

Reporting into the Technical Director, the Head of Quality provides leadership in the compliance of TP operations ensuring they comply with GMP, manufacturing licenses and individual marketing authorisations. You will have direct management line of Senior quality personnel and have input into future developments and projects.

What you can expect in a Head of Quality role at TP:

• Overall responsibility for the compliance of Quality Systems, procedures and practices
• Ensuring effective internal audit process in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.
• Managing a team of senior quality professionals
• Leading on operational compliance, including MHRA, FDA and customer audits and reporting findings to senior management
• Preparing and analysing a wide range of product and quality related reports for key stakeholders
• Ongoing work with senior management to examine methods of delivering and improving quality compliance, product quality and service quality.
• Assist the Executive team in the preparation of the TP annual business plan, coordinating the quality assurance function aspects.
• Implement quality systems and quality procedures for the manufacture of sterile and non-sterile products.
• Provide strategic planning and management of products, GMP processes and plans
• Continued awareness of developments and changes in regulatory requirements.

What are we looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Biological sciences or related scientific field; advanced degree preferred.
• Previous experience in senior Quality role within the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong knowledge of GMP regulations and FDA and MHRA guidelines
• Qualified Auditor
• Experience managing a team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of the organisation.
