The Role:
As a key function within M&G Fixed Income, the Investment Specialists team is responsible for the origination, articulation and ownership of investment messages.
They are expected to be credible representatives of the investment team for client facing purposes,providing commercial scalability to the business.
They also act as the primary interface between the investment teams and the broader business, protecting FMs from non-investment pressures in order for them to focus on delivering investment performance.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Act as the investment specialist for the M&G EMD strategies with institutional and intermediary/wholesale clients helping drive scalable AUM and revenue growth
- Work closely with Fund Managers to understand the full range of EMD strategies ensuring they are represented commercially and accurately in client communications
- Be the technical expert and represent the EMD range in client interactions including meetings, conferences and roadshows.
- Own the full range of marketing collateral to ensure client messages are impactful and relevant across different segments of our client base
- Produce topical thought pieces on specific market and product trends.
- Build strong relationships with Distribution teams and acting as the primary contact for training and client requirements relating to the investment proposition.
- Collaborate other investment directors and fund managers to share market information and investment debate.
- Develop and foster a network of successful working relationships across internal stakeholders, including Product Development, Performance & Risk Teams, Press, Marketing and Sustainable & Stewardship teams.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Advanced degree in finance or economics and/or CFA a plus
- At least 10 years professional experience within asset management, with direct experience in EM
- A dynamic person with strong interpersonal skills: ability to establish credibility and build good relationships with fund managers and the distribution channels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with public speaking
- Ability to explain investment ideas, macroeconomic views and portfolio positioning based on nature of client and size of audience
- Solid analytical and statistical skills, strong attention to detail
- Comfortable taking initiative and being resourceful/entrepreneurial
- Very good organisational skills keen awareness of and ability to manage and meet different deadlines and changing priorities from different sources
- A selfstarter and team player who can work under limited supervision.
- PowerPoint, Excel and Word to an advanced proficiency. Experience using Power BI, Aladdin and/or Bloomberg desirable
- European languages beneficial (French and/or German a plus)
- Availability to travel
