    Up to £60,000 + Benefits

    I am currently recruiting for an experienced Category Buyer to join an expanding importer / supplier to High Street retailers. This is a great opportunity for a strong trading focused Buyer / Category Manager to join the team.

    You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Trading to deliver commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the department. As a Buyer some of your duties will include.

    • Building & maintaining strong relationships with current suppliers
    • Ensuring selected product lines achieve season defined timeframes.
    • Sourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.
    • Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.
    • Attending trade shows / outlets, supplier markets
    • Negotiate the best possible contracts & terms.
    • Working closely with the individual stores to streamline any issues.
    • Constant competitor and price analysis to ensuring product offerings stay relevant
    • Presenting reports, figures, and trend information to the Senior Management team

    Key requirements for the role.

    • Proven previous experience as a Buyer / Category Manager within a fast-moving FMCG environment.
    • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
    • Able to adapt swiftly in a fast-paced market.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.
    • Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.
    • Excellent understanding of all MS Office products.
