    Senior Support Worker

    Location: Tadley, Hampshire, RG26
    Salary: £25,740 per annum + Benefits
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis
    Employment type: Full-time, Permanent

    We are on the lookout for a Senior Support Worker who is calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to mentoring others and assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
    Furthermore, as Senior Support Worker you will:
    • You'll be a strong team player with the ability to lead by example, being professional, patient and calm under pressure with experience of providing extraordinary support
    • You'll supervise daily outputs and assist the deputy manager in managing staff performance, development and appraisals
    • You'll have A QCF in Health & Social Care level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) with willingness to undertake a level 3 in Health & Social Care and demonstrate reasonable knowledge of regulatory standards for supported/residential living.
    • Takepersonal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
    • Help the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
    • Plan and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities
    • Ensure the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
    • Work in accordance with SeeAbility's values

    Who will you be supporting?
    Heather House is a nursing home for 16 young people living with severe, complex neurological disabilities and life limiting conditions, such as CLN3 (Juvenile Batten Disease).

    Support Workers are trained to a high standard in the delivery of care and support and are encouraged to develop their skills and progress their own careers, including nurse training.
    Most of the people living at Heather House need a high level of support on a 2:1 basis. Great communication skills and enthusiasm is essential for this role.

    Responsibilities
    • Mentoring and supervising our team of Support Workers
    • Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
    • To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
    • To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
    • Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Keyworker when required
    • To ensure that Support Workers maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet individual needs of people we support
    • To participate in regular and ongoing training
