We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Head of Family to lead our Family Law Department in our Coventry Office working alongside our Head of Family in Leamington / Kenilworth.


As a leader in our Family Law Department, you will play a pivotal role in providing guidance, expertise, and strategic director to our team of family law solicitors.

Your primary location will be our Coventry office, but there may be opportunities to work closely with the wider team in Leamington Spa and Kenilworth.


We take pride in handling a diverse range of cases, providing you with exposure to various elements of Family Law.

Our team encourages autonomy, enabling you to take ownership of cases from initial enquiry through to resolution. We provide support, empowering you to expand your knowledge and expertise.


We have lots of good quality work and are looking for an experienced Lawyer to grow and lead a team in our Coventry office.

We have a very generous bonus scheme of 20% of any fees brought in above your target, which is not dependent on whether the team reaches target, it's individual - we believe in rewarding lawyers for their hard work.


Role and Responsibilities
Your role in the company will predominantly consist of:

  • Provide strong leadership to the Family Law Department, fostering a collaborative and client-focused environment.
  • Managing a complex solely privately funded caseload
  • Advising clients on areas to include divorce and separation, prenuptial agreements, money and property division, cohabitation and property rights, civil partnership issues, Children Act matters, domestic violence and injunctions, and financial matters.
  • Dealing with complex and timesensitive matters
  • Representation at Court
  • Handling new enquiries and converting to instruction
  • A clientfocus approach and consistent billing history will be essential.

Key Skills and Experience

You will be expected to possess the following:

  • Qualified Solicitor, CILEX or equivalent qualification
  • with substantial experience in family law.
  • Ideally at least 5 years of experience in a similar role (inhouse or private practice).
  • Experience of working in a targetdriven, commercial environment would be an advantage.
  • Experience of managing own caseload with a strong billing history.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent professionalism and a proactive nature.
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to effectively prioritise and timemanage workloads/tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to produce work to a high standard.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good client care skills.
