Are you caring and compassionate, an enthusiastic learner and interested in a career working with the dietetic team, to help provide excellent care to children and families.

We are looking for a support worker to join our Child Health Dietetic team.

You will work alongside our existing dietetic support workers and dietitians to ensure a high-quality dietetic service for our infants, children, young people and their families.

No previous experience of working in this setting is needed as you will receive an initial period of training; however administrative qualifications and experience, a willingness to learn and good communication skills are essential


You will support clinical and non-clinical dietetic activities alongside the 6 Child HealthDietitians and will also develop specialist knowledge about the home enteral feeding service.

You will be based at the Royal Preston Hospital.

You would join a team of over 35 experienced and forward-thinking Dietitians, Dietetic Support workers and Administrative staff.

Our Child Health Dietetic Team covers a busy general paediatric department that includes inpatients, outpatients, MDT clinics, group education sessions, the neonatal intensive care unit and community home enteral feeding We are well established within the children's and young people's division in the Hospital and work closely with all members of the MDT.

  • To be the first point of contact for all incoming day to day communications and enquires and have the ability to recognise priority and field and flag to Dietitians where necessary.
  • To lead on equipment provision for children receiving home enteral feeding
  • To aid this process the post holder will ensure their own personal development building knowledge and skills working within a team under the overview of HCPC Registered Dietitians
