An outstanding opportunity has arisen for our client who are specialists in their market sector.
They are recruiting for a permanent Sales Engineer, if you have experience as a Sales Engineer this role could be ideal for you.
The Job you'll do
- In support of the bid/no bid process, review requests for quotations received from external and internal customers confirming drawing requirements are within business capabilities and capacity.
- Build compliant sales proposals considering all customer drawing requirements and specifications.
- Engage and negotiate with material and treatment subcontractors to formulate requests for quotations in line customer requirements.
- Critically review subcontract proposals to ensure compliance to our request for quotation.
- Build sales proposals ensuring required levels of margin are achieved.
- Support the Business Development Manager by attending customer meetings as the technical lead.
- Engage with customers to support design for manufacture projects and discussions.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Work closely with the Chief Engineer, manufacturing engineering & quality teams to provide proactive manufacturing solutions.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to drive efficiencies and margin improvement.
- Respond to customer requests for quotations within a timely manner.
- Mentor and train other members of the team where required.
- Travel both domestic and internationally as required.
- Ensure customers, contractors, visitors and other applicable third parties when on site comply with the company's health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure you observe local health, safety and environmental requirements when travelling or visiting other premises.
- Ensure that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company's health, safety & environment policy.
- Carry out any other duties not listed above as may reasonably be expected.
About you
- They will have significant experience and understanding of the manufacturing industry within a build to print precision machining business.
- Experience of manufacturing / engineering environment.
- Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and 3D models is essential for this role.
- Applicants will have excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- They will demonstrate a positive, innovative and motivated approach to their work combined with an ability to work under pressure within time constraints.
- This position will be on a full time, permanent basis. Working hours are 35 per week.
