    We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Leader - SAU who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

    Do you have a passion for caring for patients with surgical conditions. We are an 8 bedded unit with 10 chairs, based at Lister Hospital. We incorporate all surgical specialties.

    The successful applicants will become part of a successful, friendly team that can support newly qualified nurses and enhance skills already gained.

    The successful applicant's will be offered varied training opportunities and preceptorship.

    To support the ward manager in the operational management of clinical service delivery at ward/acute level for all surgical patients.

    Provide General Surgical nursing care and expertise, both in delivering direct patient care and in support of other staff caring for the higher needs and dependency of surgical patients.

    The focus of this role is on providing appropriate intervention, support and clinical expertise to deliver a safe clinical pathway that promotes high quality care through role modelling, expert clinical skills, promoting best practice, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and providing education.

    This includes proactive engagement and use for the enhanced recovery pathways for this group of patients.

    Promote high standards of professional practice and the delivery of quality care within the corporate policies, protocols and guidelines.

    Accountable for the delivery and monitoring of robust infection control measures at ward/department level, through ongoing vigilance by ensuring delivery of all aspects of the Infection Control Strategy.

    Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff.

    Experience at Band 5 or equivalent
    Budget management
    Responsibility for management of staff
    Qualifications/training
    Registered nurse on part 1 or part 12 of the NMC register.
    Evidence of professional development and commitment to life long learning.
    Proven knowledge of Gastroenterology and general surgery
    Evidence of team management skills
    Good understanding of professional nursing issues.
    Awareness of health and safety legislation
