An exciting opportunity has arisen for a College Placement Coordinator who is highly driven, enthusiastic and motivated, to become part of the Patient Experience and Volunteering teams at King's.


You will also have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic and be passionate about providing a high quality service to everyone you encounter.


  • To maintain and manage the relationships between King's and its partner schools
  • To grow the number of schools that King's are partnered with
  • To ensure the steady flow of students to the volunteering programme
  • To assist students in the on boarding process to qualify to volunteer
  • To place students in relevant roles to assist their studies
  • To actively engage with volunteers post placement, ensuring understanding and output remains high
  • To actively engage with placements to ensure volunteers are adding value to their depts.
  • To provide broader administrative support to the volunteer team.

  • Oversee the recruitment process, from informal enquiries through to interview, and all appropriate checks, ensuring specified timescales are met, addressing any problems. Where appropriate, escalating problems.
  • Following on boarding milestones, ensure records are kept up to date by noting which volunteers have completed which areas. Chase up noncompliance cases where appropriate
  • Keep and maintain all records on the volunteer management system as reasonably required, keeping accurate, up to date and accessible records
  • Acting as the point of liaison with occupational health, chasing unreturned forms etc.
  • Throughout the recruitment process, maintain the Trust's professional image
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with individuals throughout the process, using standard templates as a guide
  • Resolve issues with training where appropriate, escalating as appropriate.
CPP Placements

  • Ensure volunteer compliance of best practise is maintained, including but not limited to signing in, wearing uniform and delivering role expectations
  • Offer training and support where behaviours aren't at the expected level
  • Update schedules and rotas, ensuring these are kept uptodate and shared with all relevant persons.
Feedback, Retention and reporting

  • Follow up with as many volunteers as possible to ensure that expectations are met on all sides supporting the improvement of process and retention rates
  • Receive feedback and present back to the VICE manager as an actionable list of improvements (process' and roles)
  • Report on NPS scores, student and placement metrics.
Shared Responsibilities with other staff members of Volunteer Services

  • Attend and participate in meetings, committees and work streams within the Volunteer Service and the Nursing Directorate and the wider Trust
  • Support the delivery of training and recruitment programme of new volunteers
  • To be a key contributor to the volunteering team
  • Attend local community events to recruit volunteers and promote the volunteer programme
  • Assist with the organisation of any King's Volunteers recognition events.
  • Work flexibly to meet the requirements of events some evening and weekend work will be required on occasion
  • Provide reports and information as requested by the Head of Volunteering
  • Workload may vary and may be interrupted on occasion in order to meet deadlines for reports or other requests.
