Job overview
The Mike Edmonds Foot Unit is one of the largest diabetic foot units in the UK, with multidisciplinary foot clinics running every day of the week; including orthopaedic and vascular clinics twice per week.
The deputy podiatry role is an integral part of this team ensuring that the time tabling, the staffing levels and clinic expertise is available to facilitate these clinics in order that patients attending have optimal treatment and management and that these clinics run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialised podiatric care for patients attending the Diabetic Foot Clinic. The Diabetic Foot Clinic is a podiatry-led, multidisciplinary, tertiary referral unit, which provides expert specialist foot care, advanced assessment and diagnostic techniques for high- risk patients with complex foot pathologies resulting from the complications of diabetes.This role is an opportunity for the post holder to work with the podiatry manager and other MDT members to continue to expand the role of podiatry within the MDT.
The post holder will be expected to assist the podiatry manager with the day to day running of the unit to ensure compliance with trust policies are met.
