    Job Title:
    Principal Engineer - Engineering Assurance

    Location:
    Barrow-In-Furness.

    Salary:
    Circa £45,000


    What you'll be doing:
    Providing assurance to the Engineering Authority that Engineering designs meet legislation, requirements and are safe. As well as providing process confirmation. The scope of Engineering Product Assurance Department (EPAD) covers all aspects of Submarine Programmes as well as site infrastructure projects
    Providing independent Level 3 assurance of the certification & qualification of products as required through the products lifecycle aligned with the requirements of Submarines Product Assurance Framework
    Providing support to design reviews, audits, investigations, and route cause analysis
    Supporting the Independent Level 3 Assurance team through assessment of project documentation and attendance at design reviews
    Conducting and supporting audits of key processes within design and build of submarine and infrastructure projects
    Provide input to investigations to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
    Collate information for hold points, allowing activities to progress

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:
    Experience in an Engineering discipline - Assurance, Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, Design, Commissioning, Operation, or Maintenance of Submarine or Nuclear Systems
    Knowledge and understanding of Life Cycle Management for Submarine and Nuclear based projects
    Working knowledge of standard Microsoft office software packages


    Desirable:
    Degree qualified Engineer working toward Chartered Status

    The Engineering Product Assurance Department (EPAD):
    You will be joining a team working on some of the most complex Engineering projects in the UK. EPAD is an enviable position and is involved across the whole Submarine Engineering activities e.g. Various stages of design, build Commissioning Submarine platforms, as well as infrastructure projects and supporting functions.
