Senior Project Manager - Rail
Working for a Tier 1 contractor delivering a 5 year M&E Framework on behalf of Network Rail.


Location:
Birmingham or Manchester or London


Must be flexible to travel to different sites across the UK, not to deliver the work but to monitor the Project Managers that are on site delivering.


Salary:
£85,000 - £90,000 basic + Car + Package


Role Description


As Senior Project Manager, working for a Tier 1 contractor, your role is being the Technical lead for the framework.

Reporting into the Framework Director and being the Network Rail interface for ensuring a positive hand back from your team of project managers.


All the projects are either Electrical or M&E bias with a mix of Railway stations and some associated trackside works.

Valued from £1m to £10m, based across the UK.

Due to this fact you need to understand Network Rail's legislation and standards you will be working to.

This is a Quality assurance-based position, ensuring there are no issues while the project is being delivered, and checking the legislation is beingadhered to before handing back the project to Network Rail.


You will need to have come from an Engineering / Electrical background so you have a technical understanding of the project.

Then have the Network Rail experience so you know what the standards are when it comes to completing the work to the right specificationand handed back without issue.


There will be an Operation lead managing the day-to-day programmes, your role is less man management and more about educating the team about what's required by Network Rail.

Working in a hybrid position being on site 2-3 days per week with a mix of NetworkRail (The Client) and The Project teams regarding any issues that may have arisen.


Required Experience

  • Formal qualification
  • Apprenticed trained / ONC / HNC / HND or Degree


  • M&E project experience

  • You need to know how to deliver a project from a technical perspective.


  • Network Rail experience

  • You have to have worked on a Network Rail site before, working to their standards.
  • Full driving licence
