Manufacturing Support Engineer - Electrical


Salary:
£38,000 - £42,000 per annum + benefits

Acorn is currently looking to recruit an Electrical Manufacturing Support Engineer to support their clients manufacturing hub based at Trostre, Llanelli.

The Role

  • Within this role you will be required to direct and control the electrical engineering service for the specified areas of the plant.
The duties and responsibilities within the role with include but not be limited to:

  • Monitor the work of engineering teams and contractors to see that they are performing to plan, feeding back into the maintenance system, and complying with process safety.
  • Manage the training and development of staff to provide a safety conscious and technically competent workforce. Ensure where appropriate, records are maintained and available for the 'Competent Authority'.
  • Determine with line managers the operational and engineering priorities of the plant to optimise its performance for production and safety.
  • Devise planned maintenance and inspection schedules and ensure that they are observed to meet statutory and process safety requirements.
  • Ensure that engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements to a standard that is acceptable to both the internal and Competent Authority.
  • Determine and allocate engineering resources and materials to enable each shift to meet the needs of the maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure that the Plant Improvement Strategies such as Energy reduction, Yield, Delay reduction, Engineering costs are undertaken within the local area.
  • Review engineering practices and improve them to enhance engineering and plant performance.
  • Applicants will have a sound practical knowledge of Electrical Engineering with appropriate, relevant experience in a supervisory function. Ideally qualified to a degree level in Electrical Engineering, alternatively to a minimum of HNC level.
