A global leader in the design and manufacture of equipment for the Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Nuclear sectors is seeking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer.
You will join a growing Engineering team and be responsible for the delivery and integration of control systems into various company equipment.
This position is electrical hardware focussed but does include involvement with PLC software.Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
⦁ Design, install, and test control systems ensuring compliance with client specifications and relevant standards
⦁ Conduct design risk assessments with the engineering team and determine required control system performance Levels
⦁ Produce control & instrument drawings, Single line diagrams and instrument schedules/data sheets
⦁ Liaise with sub-contractors to ensure 3rd party design, manufacture and testing meet standards and specifications
⦁ Support workshop personnel and technicians with the installation, inspection and testing of control systems including set-up of PLCs, VSDs and instrumentation.
⦁ Working with the Project Engineer to support the production of including P&ID's/PFDs.
⦁ Produce documentation for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
⦁ Provide technical assistance and support to installation and commissioning engineers
⦁ Discuss technical aspects of the equipment control system with clients and their representatives, including site visits/meetings in the UK and overseas
Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
⦁ Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D is essential but AutoCAD Electrical is highly desirable
⦁ Educated to HNC level within an Electrical Engineering discipline
⦁ Ability to read and implement electrical & pneumatic control system drawings
⦁ Experience in the design of control systems for integration into machinery or other industrial systems – PLC programming highly beneficial
⦁ Able to review Hardware/Software Design Specifications (FDS, HDS, SDS)
⦁ Knowledge of BS EN standards applicable to Machinery/Low Voltage/EMC Directive
⦁ Basic knowledge and experience of working with pneumatic control systems
⦁ Knowledge of ATEX or hazardous environments preferable
⦁ Experience of the design and specification of control systems and components – including safety circuits and PLCs
