£23,000

Birmingham (B45)

Office-based, 35 hours per week

Four Squared Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside a Birmingham based charity to recruit a Finance Assistant on a full time, permanent basis.
The Finance Assistant will be reporting to the Head of Finance.


The purpose of the post to perform financial clerical duties in line with the charities financial policies and procedures, including day-to-day bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, payroll support, processing of sales and purchase invoices, and other administrationduties that support the business and programmes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Head of Finance to ensure accurate accounting records are kept and maintained.
  • Perform general finance clerical duties including, but not limited to, bookkeeping and banking duties, and inputting of data into the SAGE accounting systems.
  • Input purchase ledger invoices and produce sales invoices.
  • Carry out the reconciliation of class takings and other sales, along with company banking and reconciliation of petty cash.
  • Respond proactively to paymentrelated enquiries, ensuring processes are followed.
  • Work with the Tessitura online booking system, to assist with customer bookings, reporting and administrative tasks, and troubleshoot issues as required (Training will be provided)
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the charities work programmes, projects, and activities as appropriate.

General

  • Ensure that the charity is a welcoming, professional, and safe environment for all and that we offer the highest possible standards of customer service.
  • Be well informed about all aspects of the charities work, in order to provide an efficient service.
  • Act as a point of contact for general enquiries, as required.
  • Always maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ensure that all company processes, policies, and procedures are adhered to, including the accounting policies, antifraud policy and data protection policy, and comply with accounting standards.
  • Travel to the charities Nottingham site on occasion, as appropriate
  • Work in a way which embeds and celebrates diversity and promotes inclusivity.
  • Always act as a positive advocate.
  • Carry out any other tasks as may be agreed with members of the Management Team

Skills and knowledge
Excellent numerical and analytical skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Excellent administration skills

An understanding of confidentiality, non-disclosure, and conflict of interest

Strong abilities in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to learn and follow procedures and new system.
