    About the Role

    Wolverton Health Centrehas an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service. This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 25 hours per week with the times required below:

  • Week 1: Mon, Wed & Fri 8am-1pm, Tues & Thurs 1pm-6pm
  • Week 2: Mon, Wed & Fri 1pm-6pm, Tues & Thurs 8am-1pm
  • The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Ensuring that requests for repeat prescriptions are actioned within 72 hours. This includes checking email requests and involves a rota system to cover the collection and drop off of all prescriptions from each site.
  • Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
  • Keeping repeat prescription information up-to-date in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
  • Sending out review letters.
  • Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
  • Prescribing Incentive Scheme – issue reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
  • Medicine management – liaise and discuss any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
  • General ad hoc administration work.
  • Flexibility to cover other areas when required – multi-skill mix.
  • Keep up-to-date with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.
  • About the Candidate
  • We are a very busy, friendly and caring practice looking for someone with energy and drive.
  • A good knowledge of computers is essential as you will be required to use the GP surgery clinical system which is Systm One on a daily basis.
  • You must be a good communicator, able to work on your own initiative and be part of a flexible team.
  • Previous administrative or reception experience essential.
  • Experience of working within the NHS or within healthcare is preferable.

  • About Us We are a patient practice with 5 GP partners working from a purpose built building. We are part of Nexus MK PCN which covers 5 practices and approx patients. Benefits include on-site parking.
