    Financial Accountant (Finance Business Partner)


    A London based venture capital firm is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the existing Finance team. This is a firm with a dynamic portfolio investing in unique pioneering global ventures. The role will suit a candidate who is looking for a broad remit in both commercial and operational finance.

    In this role, you will have a broad remit with exposure to the whole month-end and statutory reporting processes.

    In particular, the candidate will assume responsibility for preparing all balance sheet reconciliations and closing the books, consolidating management information from numerous sources and ensuring deliverables are timely and accurate.

    In addition, there will be a heavy commercial focus, with involvement in all aspects of forecasting, budgeting and modelling, gaining a detailed understanding of the various operational businesses.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Ownership of bookkeeping
    • Management of the month end timetable ensuring the timely supply of all inputs from operational departments
    • Completion of all month end balance sheet reconciliations and compilation of consolidated management information and financial statements
    • Helping maintain robust control procedures to ensure that all statutory, regulatory and management reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner
    • Preparation of tax filings (CT, VAT, CIS)
    • FP&A - help deliver all aspects of forecasting, budgeting and modelling, gaining a detailed understanding of the various operational businesses.
    • Heavy involvement in the audit process, including preparation of audit work papers and acting as a primary contact for queries and requests
    • Engagement with professional advisors as required
    • Pro-active help with other ad-hoc requests and finance initiatives Who we are looking for:
    • A proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment with excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
    • A demonstrable ability to adhere to processes, enforce controls and maintain a robust control environment
    • Sound professional judgement and attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Diligent, with an eye for detail
    • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
    • At least two years experience in a similar role
    • Audit experience advantageous
