The Transactions engineering team is responsible for Parkopedia's cutting-edge in-car commerce platform, enabling drivers to pay for fueling and parking from within their vehicle.

Parkopedia maintains a flexible location policy (hybrid) but the role will require on average around 4 days per month in the office.
As a back-end developer, you'll work primarily with PHP 8, Laravel 10 and AWS to deliver new features and improved reliability, maintainability, security and testability to our in-car payments platform.
You will participate in Scrum ceremonies and work with your colleagues, stakeholders and third parties, to align on requirements and deliver a user experience you can be proud of.
The role requires solid and demonstrable experience designing, documenting, building, deploying and maintaining RESTful APIs, which can operate at scale on AWS.
You should understand performance tuning and optimisation, and how to diagnose technical issues across local, pre-release and production environments running on AWS.
We operate a DevOps culture and are responsible for developing, deploying, operating and monitoring our team's deliverables.Experienced and seasoned as a senior developer with PHP and Laravel with a focus on RESTful APIs
Commercial experience with AWS and IaC (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation)
Strong MySQL competencies, familiarity with design patterns, ORM tools, performance tuning and administration/troubleshooting in a replicated environment
Solid understanding of testing methodologies and frameworks like PHPUnit
Commercial experience with Linux, Docker, Docker Compose, Git and Redis
