We are recruiting an accredited counsellor (BACP, UKCP, BPS or HCPC) with an existing qualification in an NHS talking therapies approved modality in a band 7 counselling role or a qualified counsellor at Band 6 willing to undergo additional funded training in a talking therapies approved modality.
About the role
You will join an established, experienced and well supported team working to maintain Bedfordshire Talking Therapies excellent reputation within our local areas.
We are looking to recruit good quality Band 7 Counsellor to join the Domestic Abuse Pathway of our service and work as part of our expanding Talking Therapies service, delivering both individual and group appointments to our Bedfordshire patients.
The post holder will work with patients who have a range of complex Anxiety disorders, Depression and PTSD related problems for which domestic abuse has played a significant part in maintaining symptoms.
You will be enthusiastic, experienced, and hard-working and have a genuine interest in helping clients who are or have been experiencing Domestic Abuse.

Bedfordshire Talking Therapies Service is an expanding service that offers low and high intensity interventions in individual, couple and group formats.
We consistently achieve excellent recovery and reliable improvement rates due to our focus on delivering flexible packages of care, designed to meet patient needs.
The Service is one of three talking therapies services run and administered by East London NHS Foundation Trust, the others being Newham Talking Therapies and Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that is moving into a new phase of development and expansion.

Working within our service, which includes both virtual and on-site therapists, you will be providing high intensity interventions, for which you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Professional accreditation with BACP, UKCP, BPS or HCPC
- Successfully completed a talking therapies approved training such as PE CfD
- If you do not have this type of training, we would still love to hear from you as we can provide this training in a band 6 role.
- Evidence of working with people who have presented with mental health difficulties, preferably in primary care and in particular, experience of working with victims of Domestic Abuse
- Knowledge base of the area of Domestic Abuse and relevant support services such as MARAC, SARAC, IDVA etc.
- Experience delivering group therapy
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and to deliver required performance indicators.
- Selfmotivated with ability and tools to provide a confidential, safe, professional working environment to clients at all times.
