To work within the specialist area of Podiatric biomechanics/MSK in the management of a broad range of lower limb, gait and orthopaedic/musculoskeletal related conditions providing a high quality care.
This will include patients with a variety of podiatric problems and medical conditions those with high risk feet and lower limb morbidity such as in diabetes, neuropathy and arteriopathies.
As required to provide of high-quality podiatry treatment throughout Trust sites.
- To work in accordance with the Health Council and CNWL Trust policies.
- To undertake clinical assessment and diagnosis of biomechanical/musculoskeletal cases.
- To assess podiatry patient on 'needs based' following departmental guidelines and ensuring timely care of patient.
- To use clinical reasoning and decision making skills to provide in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
- To be able to carry out full range of podiatry clinical skills such as assessment, diagnoses, understand Xray's & MRI's and treatment of a range of podiatric conditions including nail surgery.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatments/ treatment options in an understandable way, enabling and giving the patients options to agree their treat plans.
- Provide day to day leadership to clinical staff to ensure their personal development including appraisals Clinical supervision, their line management and the delivery of services by the team.
- Staff and student/apprentice training.
- Work to local and CNWL trust IT systems including note writing
- Attend meeting as required.
We have this opportunity for you in Camden as part of CNWL NHS Trust.
- To provide and maintain a comprehensive MSK/Orthotic Podiatry Service.
- To work in a collaborative manner with the Service Manager and Clinical Lead to manage the day to day running of the service.
- To work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead to ensure the clinical education of the podiatrists.
- To contribute to the management of physical resources including budget, and staff within sphere of responsibility, in line with contractual and professional standards.
- To undertake a leadership role, in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service on a daytoday basis.
- To undertake advanced biomechanical assessment, orthotic provision and advice for patients with a range of MSK/biomechanical conditions.
- To ensure that clinical staff access mandatory training and CPD.
- To provide clinical and professional supervision for clinical staff.
- To educate, train, liaise with and provide specialist advice to other agencies such as GP's, Community Nurses, and any other disciplines who are involved in patient care.
- Undertake evidencebased audit, in order to make recommendations for changes in own and team's clinical practice.
- Make recommendations to Service Manager and Clinical Lead in relation to change of service or service delivery that falls in line with government standards of care and service provision.
- Will participate with the Clinical Lead in the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols
