    Job Summary:

    Our client is seeking an Estimator with a background in Construction or Civil Engineering. The Estimator will play a crucial role in analysing project requirements, conducting comprehensive cost assessments, and preparing accurate estimates for Civil Engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and an understanding of Civil Engineering principles and practices.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand the scope of work, materials requirements, and construction methods for civil engineering projects.
    2. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and material assessments for earthwork, concrete, steel, piping, utilities, and other components of civil construction projects.
    3. Utilise estimating software, spreadsheets, and historical cost data to develop comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
    4. Analyse project risks, site conditions, and logistical factors to identify potential cost impacts and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
    5. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to validate cost assumptions, solicit input, and ensure accuracy and completeness of cost estimates.
    6. Research market prices, material costs, and subcontractor rates to maintain current and accurate pricing data for estimating purposes.
    7. Prepare bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation, in compliance with client requirements and procurement regulations.
    8. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather information and address inquiries related to cost estimates.
    9. Support project teams during the pre-construction phase by providing cost analysis, value engineering recommendations, and budget development assistance.
    10. Maintain organised documentation, including records of quantities, cost data, bid submissions, and post-bid analyses, to facilitate project tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement.
