    The role
    As a Finance Business Partner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be required to learn quickly and take on a role that will be a mixture of "hands on" work whilst also enabling better understanding of the finances within your project team.

    Day-to-day, you'll take responsibility for all aspects of accounting within your projects which will also include partnering with Programme Managers and reporting to the Lead Finance Business Partner.

  • Produce financial information for 12 month rolling forecast, budget and performance information for the contracts in your portfolio.
  • Produce meaningful and accurate financial reports for the Head of Finance that shows contract performance with variances from budget, previous forecasts and estimates to complete clearly explained.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, assisting them with their understanding of financial issues so they are equipped to foresee financial risks before they arise and take pre-emptive mitigating action.
  • Be the key financial contributor at the monthly contract review for your portfolio and be able to talk through the changes in the contract position. Submitting/producing contract invoices, in line with current procedures and compile cash forecasts in line with the company requirements.
  • Responsibility for the delivery of appropriate revenue, profit, cash-flow and orders reconciliation for your portfolio of contracts at month end.
  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home. Occasional travel to Bristol required.

    Essential experience of the Finance Business Partner:

  • An independent worker who can bring their own solutions and ideas to the role.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness having spent time in a business facing role – desirable.
  • Has experience of project accounting/working in project environment – desirable.
  • Has worked in a large organisation which operates on an ERP – desirable.
  • Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Qualified accountant (either ACCA, ACA or CIMA) or part-qualified working towards full qualification.
  • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
