    As a Field Service Engineer you willrespond to customer's field repair and service requests diagnosingand providing comprehensive detail about the nature the problem tothe customer and Finning to create a quote as per the request ofthe customer within a cost and time effective manner.

    JobDescription:

    You will need to haveboth outstanding customer focus coupled with in depth knowledge ofplant equipment. The ability to attend site and understand thecustomer needs and resolve any mechanical or electrical issues in asafe, timely and cost-effective manner, utilising the most up todate dealer software and repairtechniques.

    Main JobFunctions

    • Provide anestimate of arrival time at customer's site in response to servicerequest based on the job instructions from Branch giving details ofcustomer location, machine, contact name and nature of problem andcurrent work situation.
    • Contact customer's sitemanagement in order to register arrival and presence on site andensure knowledge of customer procedures so as to adhere to siterequirements.
    • Diagnose the likely cause ofreported equipment problems, in discussion with customeroperators/supervisors and using specialised equipment, in order toprovide the customer with an information for the workrequired. Provide a comprehensive detail to allow Finning toconstruct a quote as requested by thecustomer.
    • Identify the parts required to carryout the repair and requisition any parts and determine expectedtime of delivery so that a date and time of any necessary servicere-visit can be agreed with customer.
    • Undertakerepair and service work on the machine to the agreed work plan,removing and despatching components for specialist attention andre-installing the original or replacement, to bring the machine upto the requiredstandards.

    Knowledge

    • Formallyapprenticed trained (NVQ Level 3) and served as a workshop engineerfor a significant period or development opportunity for a qualifiedapprentice
    • Experience of a varietyof construction and static machinesessential

    Educationand Experience

    • LDV drivinglicence
    • Formally trained (NVQ Level 3preferred) and served as a service engineer for a significantperiod or development opportunity for a qualifiedapprentice
    • Experience of a variety ofconstruction and static machinesessential
