About the Role You will champion a positive safety culture within our Society, making a significant impact on all business areas and in our sites throughout Scotland.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary Services team, you will be at the heart of our safety initiatives, working closely with our divisions to ensure compliance and best practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
Proactive Guidance:
Providing expert advice and guidance on all matters related to Health & Safety, promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Risk Management:
Conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure the well-being of our staff and customers.
Management of Accidents:
Including investigations, reporting, managing insurance claims, trend analysis and identifying remedial works.
Training and Education:
Developing and delivering engaging Health and Safety training programs that empower our team members at all levels, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility.
Data-Driven Insights:
Utilising data analytics to inform safety decisions, identifying trends, and proactively addressing potential areas of concern.
Regulatory Compliance:
Staying up to date with the latest Health & Safety regulations and ensuring our business operations align with legal requirements.
Managing our online health & safety compliance management tool.Presentations:
to Executive Team and Board on health & safety activity and strategy and chairing health and safety meetings internally and externally.
About the Candidate.You will have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar Health & Safety position and will preferably have multi-site experience.
Excellent communication skills are a must for this position, as well as a meticulous attention to detail. Ideally, you will have experience of developing and presenting Health and Safety programmes to all levels of staff. You will have the ability to multi-task and enjoy working in a fast-paced organisation. You will be Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and have familiarity with data-driven decision-making.A full, clean driving licence is essential for this role as travel around the Society's sites forms a large part of the role.
A company car will be allocated for this purpose. Overnight stays will be required on occasions.You will have the following qualifications:
