EPUT 'Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust' are recruiting for an Immunisation Healthcare Assistants to work within our Immunisation service which covers Bedford, Luton, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.


The service will primarily be delivered through a school based model, offering all school aged vaccinations including the intranasal flu vaccination.


There is also an emphasis on improving uptake rates of immunisations, which will be supported through health promotion and engagement with families and schools.

We require flexible workers to cover Monday - Friday (working hours considered between 8am-8pm) and occasional Weekend shifts.

EPUT offer a fantastic relocation package of up to £8,000.

Covering a number of expenditures for new recruits relocating from 30 miles or more from their new work base at EPUT.

You will be an experienced health care assistant with an NVQ level 3 in Health & Social care or equivalent.

We will require you to have well developed communication and organisational skills and be able to work as part of a team and autonomously under direction.


The post holder must like children and have a compassionate manner when dealing with large groups of children and be able to work in a busy school setting and clinic environment.

You will be required to travel to local schools and clinics when on duty.

A current UK driving licence is essential for the post.

What is Staff Bank?


Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings.

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.


All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.


If you are joining our Trust in a fixed term role, please indicate on your New Starter Paperwork that you wish to join our staff bank.


You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of school-aged immunisations across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes; this will be in schools, clinics and homes as required.

You will ensure policies and procedures are adhered to, enabling the safe and effective administration of immunisations.

You will be involved in promoting health and wellbeing as well as preventing ill health of school aged children through planned activities empowering young people to make healthy lifestyle choices and achieve their maximum potential.

Our service is very innovative and we currently utilise an electronic consent platform daily - IT skills are essential.
A current UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work is essential for this post.

Qualification
Essential Criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or willingness to undertake
  • Education to GCSE grade C /equivalent level including Maths and English
  • Current full UK Driving licence and the ability to travel independently as required for the post
Skills/Experience
Essential criteria

  • Experience of working with service users and liaison with other service providers and agencies.
  • Computer skills including Mircosoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Desirable criteria

  • Experience working within an immunisation service or mass vaccination centre
  • Knowledge of SystmOne electronic child records
