What you'll be doing


As the Photography Lead you will work collaboratively with the wider team in the creation of compelling visual content for multi-channel activity, that drives brand love, and action through fundraising, marketing and media.

As the sole photography expert, you'll be working across a wide variety of briefs and flagship integrated campaigns, ensuring that imagery is delivered on time, to budget, and through solid production processes.

Through your industry contacts, you'll find the talent to meet brief requirements whether it's through commission or image purchasing.

You'll thrive in a busy environment and be able to negotiate stakeholder demands and external contacts whilst maintaining great working relationships.

The role is based at our UK head office, [*with a hybrid working pattern] and your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the photography commissioning process, from planning to post-production including, scheduling, briefing and negotiating rates and rights.
  • Assess and prioritise the photography needs across multiple channels and stakeholder teams in line with the organisation's priorities.
  • Lead across all commissions on the briefing of photographers to ensure consent procedures, ensuring brand, quality, legal, safeguarding, and budgetary requirements are met.
  • Provide inhouse and external image research and picture editing.
  • Maintain and foster growth of a network of freelance photographic talent in the UK and overseas.

***You are passionate about using photography to create engaging multi-platform content and visual storytelling that will reach new audiences.


You have a track record working in a fast-moving, deadline driven environment - delivering multiple, concurrent projects and can plan and prioritise projects in line with strategic priorities.

You'll be a strong problem-solver, who enjoys responding creatively to stakeholder briefs.


You have experience of maintaining excellent photography production workflows, right through from brief to delivery, archiving, labelling and organising projects to ensure consistent team wide process.


We are looking for
Your previous experience and excellent skills from the industry, either in-house or agency (and ideally having worked with NGO/non-profit clients), will ensure you can hit the ground running, in addition to:

  • Solid experience commissioning and editing photography within a creative team or agency.
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (crucially PhotoShop, LightRoom and Bridge).
  • Ability to interrogate creative briefs and deliver ideas in response to brief
  • A brilliant communicator who can collaborate directly with stakeholders, action feedback, and come up with creative solutions to get the best possible outcome
  • A proactive, resourceful, and flexible hardworker, who can jump from one priority to another and deliver to deadlines
  • Someone who's kind, with a positive attitude, and has a genuine passion to use their words to make a difference

***Reporting to the Film and Photography manager, you'll be joining our diverse and hugely talented creative content team - made up of film producers and editors, story gatherers, designers, copywriters and vital production support. (We were also named the in-house creative team of the year in 2021 at the Inside Out awards, in case you missed it )
