1.0 WTE Band 6 LAC Practitioner in LAC CAMHS for Bedfordshire and Luton - One year maternity leave cover

The LAC CAMHS team for Luton, Bedford and Central Bedfordshire is a well-established, supportive, and passionate multi-disciplinary team.

We are committed to providing the very best therapeutic support and intervention to Children in Care, their carers, and colleagues from Social Care throughout Luton, Bedford and Central Bedfordshire.

We have close links with colleagues in the wider CAMHS, in Education and other agencies.

Do you want to join the team as a Band 6 LAC Practitioner to cover a maternity leave for one year?

You will provide assessments and interventions for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will also provide support to carers, and consultations to social workers and other professionals.

There will be opportunities to join colleagues running various groups for children, young people or carers, and different trainings for carers and professionals.


You will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, as well as the ability to work well in a team.

You will be supported by regular, separate clinical and management supervision sessions, access to a variety of continuing professional development sessions, and regular team meetings which involve clinical discussions.

The main base would be at the CAMHS office, Rush Court, Bedford, MK40 3JT.

But it will be necessary to travel around Bedfordshire and Luton in order to provide the service where best suits the children and young people.
