Support, Time and Recovery Worker - London, United Kingdom - East London NHS Foundation Trust
Description
Job summary
The Inclusion and Involvement team (I&I) is a pan London service, which focuses on two overlapping areas. The first is meeting the social inclusion needs of people returning to the community from custody, using a relational and psychologically informed approach to help people find community, purpose and belonging in line with desistance principles. The service hold community hub spaces in Euston and London Bridge, with a range of:
inclusion activities (such as music, art, reading, creative writing)
practical support (such as finances, technology, benefits, practical skills, volunteering and employment, stabilisation support)
emotional and social support (such as support spaces for marginalised groups, age awareness groups, men's health group, mindfulness)
The second area I&I focuses on is service user involvement. This is the commitment to practice in a way that keeps service user voices and experience central to decisions and practice in how the service operates.
This post is employed under the London Pathways Partnership (LPP), which is a consortium of five NHS Trusts co-delivering the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway alongside National Probation Service (NPS) colleagues. The OPD Pathway programme provides services to men and women with complex psychological difficulties and serious offending histories, and to the multi-agency professionals working with them.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will contribute actively to the day to day running and development of up to four social inclusion provisions across London, to support users of OPD Pathway services to establish safe and stable lives in the community. The postholder will work directly with service users who have significant psychological difficulties, assisting them to establish safe and stable lives in the community. Additionally, the postholder will support the service user involvement opportunities where required.
About us
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
