We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to conduct innovative research in neuroendocrinology of stress, primarily using perforated-patch clamp electrophysiology, live cell calcium-imaging and interrogation of signalling pathways in anterior pituitary corticotrophs in vitro and ex vivo.

The researcher will use these methods to answer fundamental questions as to how corticotroph physiology and HPA axis function is regulated during and following chronic stress.

The Opportunity:

You will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary group with a passionate focus on the physiology of anterior pituitary function in health and disease.

The role provides opportunities to develop expertise in a range of electrophysiological, imaging, molecular and analysis approaches with support to develop the next stage of your research career.

You will be based in outstanding facilities within a supportive and highly interactive and collaborative multidisciplinary community.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Excellent knowledge of patch clamp electrophysiological techniques
  • Good general knowledge of optical imaging methods and desire to develop expertise
  • Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a Home Office Personal Licence (PIL) for working with mice
