    Job Description
    Our client is looking for a serious injury solicitor with 5 years + to join their Cambridge offices.
    • Manage a caseload of catastrophic injury cases, ensuring high-quality legal advice and representation. The files will include brain damage and spinal injury cases with some valued in excess of £1m.
    • Conduct thorough investigations, assess liability, and provide sound legal opinions to clients.
    • Collaborate with medical experts, barristers, and other relevant parties to build strong cases.
    • Negotiate settlements, participate in mediations, and represent clients in court when necessary.
    • Keep up-to-date with legal developments, case law, and legislation relating to catastrophic injury claims.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed case files, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
    • Provide exceptional client service, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and effective communication throughout the process.
    • Contribute to business development activities, networking, and raising the firm's profile within the field.

    Requirements

    • Qualified solicitor with minimum 8 years PQE and experience handling a caseload of complex Fast-track Catastrophic Injury files.
    • Demonstrable expertise in handling complex catastrophic injury cases from inception to settlement or trial.
    • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and legal procedures.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess liability, damages, and quantum accurately.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal matters in a clear and concise manner.
    • Proven negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience in achieving favourable outcomes for clients.
    • Ability to work independently, manage a demanding caseload, and meet deadlines.
    • Empathy, sensitivity, and the ability to build rapport with clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
    • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends.
    • Membership in relevant professional bodies and accreditations is desirable.
