    Job Title: HR Advisor (Employee Relations)

    Location: Hybrid working, home & minimum 3 days a week in Birmingham Business Park office

    Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum + Bonus

    Working Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday

    This role's purpose is to provide specialist people relations support to managers/leaders and people across the business ensuring this support epitomises the BCA culture & values, meeting compliance requirements and supporting delivery of business objectives. To support people relation matters, processes, and practices and to support the ongoing upskilling of managers/leaders and people. Due to the nature of our business, you may be required to work across our other business entities.

    Your key responsibilities will be:

    • To provide specialist advice and solutions on all people relations matters to a range of managers and people across the business – ensuring this support epitomises the BCA culture & values, meets compliance requirements, and delivers business objective
    • To coach line managers/leaders throughout to improve their capability to independently manage their people
    • Support managers/leaders in the efficient and timely completion of all administration relating to people relations cases and organisation change situations, including managing all relevant correspondence for each case
    • Maintenance of the case management system
    • Drive continuous improvement in the effective provision of people relations support through leveraging and guiding improvements in ways of working, policies, processes. A key part of role will be the continued upskilling of managers/leaders to enable them to manage their people
    • To role model the BCA Values and Behaviours at all times
    • Participate as project team member on designated business and people projects as required in all areas of the business

    To be successful, you'll bring some of the following experience with you:

    Essential

    • Strong, all round people relations experience covering conduct and capability (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, absence, family related leave, flexible working, performance, and all organisational change (i.e. redundancy and TUPE)
    • Proactive approach to employee relations
    • Strong listening and communication skills both verbally and in writing
    • Strong relationship building and good coaching skills
    • Experience of working in a fast paced commercial environment
    • Good experience in building and sustaining effective relationships remotely at all levels
    • Proven knowledge of employment legislation and its application into people policies and processes
    • Good awareness and understanding of people wellbeing and initiatives to support this
    • Team player with good interpersonal skills and customer focused
    • Assertive, resilient and comfortable managing own caseload as part of a team
    • Proven organisational, time management and efficient administration skills
    • Strong service ethic and customer focus with occasional ambiguity
    • Ability to prioritise work effectively and manage multiple priorities

    Desirable

    • CIPD qualified or equivalent qualification
    • Experience of working in people relations roles in a variety of sectors and organisations
    • Experience of providing people relations advice, guidance and support remotely in a multi-site environment
    • Experience of writing people policies and processes
