    A fixed term opportunity for a period of 23 months has arisen within the IM&T Department at NHS Dumfries and Galloway, working to support our GP Practices and wider Primary Care services to migrate to a new GP IT system.

    We are looking for a Lead GP IT Facilitator to be part of a small team that will support the local activity of the national GP IT Re-provisioning Programme (GPITRP).

    The post holder will lead a small team of fellow facilitators and be responsible for the planning, training, rollout and support of staff that will need to access the new GP IT system covering all Practice staff regardless of role along with FCPs, Pharmacists and Mental Health workers who support Practices on a daily basis. They will also support the IT facilitation needs of other related GP IT projects including the migration to a new GP Order Communications system and upcoming DocMan 10 upgrade.

    The post holder is required to collaborate with national and local teams, GP clinical system suppliers and third-party national providers to support the on-going requirement of the GP IT Re-provisioning.

    Expert advice, training, consultation, investigation and reporting skills are required. A working knowledge of GP clinical systems and Read Coding is essential, and strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role.

    Internal candidates may consider applying for this post as a secondment which will require approval by your line manager. Flexible working, including job share, up to 37 hours per week may be considered.
