The Role:

Shell's integrated Corporate Relations function supports Shell's strategy and sectoral approach to cutting emissions through improved policy and advocacy outcomes.
The Integrated Power Policy & Thought Leadership Researcher will provide junior policy support to Shell's centralised team of 6 e-mobility, wind, solar and integrated power policy experts as Shell seeks to build a material global power business.
What's the role?
Objectives:
Horizon scanning:
Understand and summarise reports, events and viewpoints from key think-tanks, NGOs and academics and rapidly determine how those views should influence Shell's policy development and advocacy strategies.
Policy alignment:
Help integrate and aligning local market policy positions with Shell's global positions in the areas of offshore wind, onshore renewables (wind & solar) batteries, microgrids, power trading, electric mobility, and supply to customers.
Maintain Shell's global and regional (EU) advocacy dashboard, flagging where extra advocacy activity or policy development will be required to keep Shell on track to achieve our business objectives.
Communications & Reputation:
Support the wider team deliver events and thought leadership
What we need from you
- Proven experience in developing policy, either in a company, in an agency or as a junior civil servant
- Some experience of any aspect of the power market, climate or energy policy or emobility.
- Ability to roll sleeves up and support a team of 6 deliver their policy and communications objectives.
- Excellent communications, writing and editing skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex interfaces and building trusted relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including executivelevel leaders
- The ability to prioritise competing requests and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to write, edit and proofread at an advanced skilled level in the English language for a variety of audience.
- The ability to work independently and exercise good judgment and decisionmaking.
- Proven ability to work to deadline while managing multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
- Strategic and creative thinker and problemsolver.
- Strong attention to detail and able to learn new material quickly.
