Job description:


The role of the Support Officer covers a diverse range of activities to help and support the delivery of the automation across Defence.

This role is working within the ACOE (Automation Centre of Expertise) within the Digital Foundry.


This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment delivering new digital products and services using agile methodologies across the MOD with mixed range of skill sets.

As ACOE grows in scope and as a team, there are range of activities and development opportunities that you could get involved in beyond the core responsibilities.

There are further opportunities to work in various elements of Automation such as Application Development, Product Delivery, Benefits Management and Service Management.


The role will suit individual who wants to grow as a Project and Portfolio Support Officer in the Project Delivery and Digital domain.


Responsibilities:


  • Organising and coordinating ACOE meetings such as the fortnightly ACOE Portfolio board and Strategic Review sessions. This will include liaising with stakeholders, collating the slides and noting the actions of the meeting.
  • Supporting the planning and management of various other ACOE events and communications.
  • Supporting ACOE commercial and project management activities. There is potential to grow further in these activities as a Portfolio and Project Support Officer.
  • Conducting financial activities on the Contracting Purchasing & Finance (CP&F) tool. Training will be provided for this.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding of members within the ACOE team. Arranging induction, MODNET accounts and laptops for new joiners.
  • Supporting the technical operations of the ACOE (like licence management and service support).
  • First POC for ACOE Business Support to internal ACOE teams.
  • Organising and maintaining the ACOE SharePoint and Teams site. Setting up and maintaining the document management structure for all ACOE documents.
  • Helping to manage and triage queries in Automation Service Centre Multi-User Inbox.
  • Support in various elements of Automation delivery such as Application Development, Benefits Management and Service Management.


The role of the Project Support Officer covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the project's objectives.

The Project Support Officer enables the smooth running of the project by supporting the project manager through the operation of project management processes, and the co-ordination of business management actions and activities on their behalf.


Person specification:


We are looking for a self-motivated individual, who is a good listener and can question effectively and make notes that accurately capture discussions.

You must be able to work with various stakeholders, who have a wide range of skills within the wider business.


You will need to be confident, organised and can help others to improve how simple activities are organised, have good communication skills as well as the ability to use a degree of initiative, and the ability to retain information to prioritise daily duties.
