    Position Summary

    As the Senior Commercial Director, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the commercial strategy to propel our organisation's success. Reporting directly to the Managing Director (MD), and a key member of the Regional Leadership Team, you will lead our strategic planning and ensure that our leadership teams are focused on delivering our three-year plan. The role will give significant access and influence across all areas of our business and is critical to the implementation of our plans.

    This Senior Commercial Director role presents a unique opportunity for a talented leader to contribute to our overall success by building our capability and helping us to deploy our resources against the right priorities and with the right outcomes.

    This role necessitates a strategic approach, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven history of managing change to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate should excel in leading and influencing senior teams to ensure collaboration and excellent execution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Planning

  • Take ownership of our rolling 3-year-plan and ensure that our senior team are aligned to our overall mission.
  • Work with other senior leaders to create and shape strategies that drive incremental growth across multiple lines of business in multiple geographic areas.
  • Work with leaders from our global organisation to ensure that execution of the EMEA regional strategy is supported by 'centre of excellence' teams
  • Leadership

  • Participate in, and drive, the Regional Leadership Team to ensure excellent execution and alignment between teams.
  • Represent the company in negotiations with customers and suppliers to build long term relationships and maximise outcomes.
  • Be a visible and vocal ambassador for the company to internal teams; promoting our corporate values and helping to enhance our employee value proposition.
  • Programme Management

  • Demonstrate effective planning, execution, and delivery of key initiatives for organisations that are geographically spread and provide multiple lines of business and products.
  • Align internal teams to ensure resources are available and focused on delivering the strategic plan.
  • Coordinate and align program activities with overall business objectives and business-as-usual activities.
  • Take direct ownership and accountability for significant special projects (e.g. new market entries) whilst supported by other team members.
  • Revenue Generation:

  • Work with senior sales leaders to optimize our commercial strategy, including pricing and proposition, to drive maximum sales in target markets.
  • Support sales teams to enable them to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Influence and Collaboration:

  • Act as a key influencer, building strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Provide strategic advice to the MD and Regional Leadership Team that enables an accurate view of the market and the organisation's future development.
  • Drive collaboration across departments to enhance overall organizational performance and build an increased capability within regional teams.
  • Qualifications

    The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • 5+ years in a senior level commercial or operational leadership role.
  • Proven success in leading and managing business goals and strategies, showcasing strong strategic planning and execution capabilities.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth, achieving commercial objectives and designing and implementing strategic plans.
  • Experience working in a matrix management structure, ideally across multiple territories.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, coupled with an analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making.
  • Financial acumen with a track record of managing budgets and driving financial performance.
  • A degree in a business or management related subject would be an advantage but it is more important that the successful candidate can demonstrate a track record of high quality outcomes within their career.

  • Travel:

  • Comfortable with regular travel as required to support business needs.
  • Our main offices are in Manchester and Barcelona, with support offices in London, Nice, Vienna and Johannesburg – we would expect a successful candidate to be visible to our teams (who spend 2-3 days per week in the office as standard).
  • There may be a requirement for occasional long distance travel (e.g. USA) depending on the needs of the business.
