Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit a
SHE Advisor to work on our
Caledonia Water Alliance contract in Stepps, Glasgow.

This role will incur travel throughout Scotland including the Highlands and Islands.


Caledonia Water (CWA) is a joint venture alliance between Aecom and Morrison Water Services (MWS), supporting the delivery of Scottish Water's SR21 Capital Investment Programme.


CWA are responsible for the delivery of a pan Scotland £700M water and wastewater infrastructure programme over a 6-year alliance framework.

As the SHE Advisor you will be working pan Scotland delivering our SHE strategy.

You will be responsible for advising the Operational Teams on their legal obligations, providing SHE support to operatives, reporting on performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


As the SHE Advisor your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Provide support and guidance to operational teams, management and clients on SHE performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback
  • Undertake regular site inspections/audits of operational sites to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and contract processes are being properly implemented (out of hours whenever necessary)
  • To lead and implement measures to rectify gaps where any safety systems are deemed to be deficient or missing as well as establish contract audit programme, monitor performance and undertake trend analysis of findings
  • Development of practices to support of a zero incident culture
  • Identifies common SHE hazards inherent within the contract and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards
  • Identifies applicable client imposed SHE standards and establishes procedures for their implementation
  • Investigates and establishes standards for protective equipment
  • Audits SHE programmes (office, depot and on site) for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions
  • Conduct personal SHE visits on site in line with key performance indicators in order to drive cultural change
  • Undertake investigations into incidents and liaise with all relevant partners including HR, Plant & Fleet etc.
  • Ensures all employees are aware of their SHE responsibilities by monitoring required training and adherence to skills matrix
  • Implements Accident / incident / hazard / near miss reporting procedures
  • Establish and produce appropriate systems to manage and record environmental data including but not limited to waste, material usage, fuel and power
  • Collate and manage data for key performance indicators as agreed within the contract
  • Maintain SHE administration documents
  • Ensure work undertaken meets client and legislative quality standards
  • Ensure effective management of occupational health and health surveillance data to analyse risks of HAVS and other occupational hazards
  • Ensure adequate and timely information and potential issues is submitted to operational management in the form of monthly SHE reports
  • Timely briefing of updated legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and client standards to operational management
  • Briefing of potential issues and solutions to operational management in a timely manner
  • Supporting the production and delivery of safety alerts, presentations & briefings where required to raise awareness
  • Deliver inductions to operatives and new starters

Education/Qualifications:

NEBOSH General Certificate

Full UK driving licence

New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA)/Streetworks Card (preferred)
