I am recruiting on behalf of a large company in North Cardiff who is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join its team on a contract based for 1 year.


The role will also identify current and future risks and opportunities and report in a manner that allows informed decision-making to be made.


The role will involve carrying out business partnering to the wider business to inform better decision making and preparing relevant management information, relevant reports, costing, business cases and analysis.

Role Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Preparation of periodic management information and commentaries for assigned functional area, including usage of dashboards, analytics and infographics.
  • Responsible for production of comprehensive annual budget and forecasts for assigned area of
- responsibility, including relevant P&L, balance sheet and cash flow impacts.

  • Independently conduct monthly review meetings with budget holders, to act as the key point of contact for all finance issues for budget holders, and to support them with business cases.
  • Periodic presentation of financial performance, forecasts and budget variances for area of responsibility, including financial opportunities and risks.
  • Challenge current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible.
  • Review of monthly commitments and preparation of periodic reconciliations including timely follow up on any queries.
  • Management of direct/indirect reports (as applicable), who will support the Finance Business Partners in delivering their responsibilities.
  • Ad hoc duties / analysis as required, to provide support to Finance management and senior leadership teams
  • Prepare relevant information for yearend group and statutory audits and assist with any queries.
  • Assist in delivery of any relevant Grant Agreement obligations.
Essentials

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
  • Good understanding of financial and accounting issues relevant in an operational business
  • Practical experience working in a pressurised environment, and an ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent, highly developed analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and influencing skills at all levels.
  • Good time management skills, ability to prioritise workload and ability to work to strict reporting deadlines.
  • Computer literate, (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, finance systems).
