We are looking for a highly driven, motivated, and passionate nurse to lead and develop our Radiology Nurse & Nurse Support service.

We are recruiting an individual with strong compassionate leadership skills to continue to deliver high quality care, alongside the Radiology departments and as part of the Radiology Directorate services management team.

We are seeking a dynamic motivated manager and welcome applicants with senior clinical and leadership experience.

Alongside the Diagnostics Operational Service Manager, Radiology Operational Mangers and Clinical Leads, you will represent the nursing and patient voice for Radiology at both local and national level, with the support of a motivated MDT who strive to deliver excellence.


You will provide professional and effective clinical leadership for all levels of the Radiology Nurse & Nurse Support teams ensuring high standards of excellent, compassionate, and quality care are delivered to the patient.


An enthusiastic and dynamic leader and manager is required to join the senior leadership team within the Radiology Directorate to take responsibility for the Radiology Nurse & Nurse Support service.


We are therefore looking for someone who has recognition as an innovator with experience of change management and a reputation for professional excellence.

Additionally, the post holder will work collegiately with the Radiology Operational Managers, Clinical Leads and the Diagnostics Operational Service Manager.

Clinical Support Services Division

Radiology is part of the Clinical Support Services Division and consists of 5 directorates:

  • Critical Care, Anaesthetics, Pre-op Assessment, Pain Relief Unit, Resuscitation & Outpatients
  • Pathology & Laboratories
  • Radiology & Imaging
  • Pharmacy & Sterile Services
  • Psychological Medicine
  • The post holder will be responsible for providing strong professional and management leadership to the Radiology Directorate Nurse & Nurse Support teams.
  • The post holder will be a visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in the Radiology Directorate Nurse & Nurse Support teams.
  • The post holder is responsible, in partnership with the Radiology Clinical Leads and CUOM's, for ensuring the efficient and effective daytoday running of the Radiology Nurse & Nurse Support services, delivering key quality, performance, and financial plans, achieving key service improvements, line managing designated staff and providing strategic oversight of developments aligned to the Trust values.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the Radiology Directorate Nurse & Nurse Support budgets.
  • The post holder will take overall responsibility to develop the Radiology Nurse & Nurse Support teams in partnership with the Radiology Clinical Leads and CUOM's to develop and coordinate services.
  • The post holder will lead the development and delivery of a programme of practice and professional development for Radiology Nurses & Nurse Support teams ensuring a high quality of care is delivered.
  • The role requires liaison at senior level with the Directorate and Division to share strategies for service development and evaluation and liaise with all health professionals to ensure that the service delivers high quality compassionate and effective care.
  • Act as an innovative, enthusiastic role model providing leadership, guidance and advice to staff on operational and professional issues promoting an open, honest and transparent culture.
  • The post holder will lead the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
  • Deliver direct patient care, acting as an expert practitioner and a role model to the whole team.
