The post holder will work in the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit, which is part of the UniversityDepartment of Oncology and the Oncology and Haematology Directorate.The unit is involved in conductof a wide spectrum of cancer clinical research, predominantly phase I/II, including first in human.Clinical responsibilities include education of patients and colleagues, trial recruitment, co-ordination ofcare for patients on trials, collection and preparation of biological samples, collection of trial data andadministration of experimental agents.The post holder will be expected to develop specialist skills and knowledge relating to the conduct ofclinical trials, therapies and disease. Specialist knowledge of the oncology or haematology patients willbe beneficial.

Job description Job responsibilities Provide excellent professional and clinical care in the field of cancer research promoting the effectivedelivery of a high standard of nursing care for all trial patients and contributing to the development ofthe service, practice and individuals .Promote conduct of trial portfolio to the highest standard according to ICH-GCP principles.Maintain and continually develop specialist knowledge of nursing practice
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent communication, organisational and time management skills. These individuals should be team players, able to cope with pressure and have a flexible approach to their work. They will ensure that clinical studies are conducted according to ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research, for which training will be given as required. They need to be proactive and able to work independently within the team to deliver a portfolio of both commercial and NIHR studies within deadlines to achieve given NIHR targets. Nurses who have oncology or haematology experience, are self-motivated and have an interest in clinical research are encouraged to apply.
