    Job summary

    Full Time Interventional Fellowship

    We seek to appoint a full time cardiology interventional fellow for 1 year. The role will expose you to the full range of coronary intervention at the Bristol Heart Institute, the regional centre for the Southwest. Our unit has one of the largest volume and highest quality complex PCI programmes in the UK and recognition for excellence in intravascular imaging (both OCT and IVUS), both services being delivered by national and internationally regarded trainers.

    We would welcome applications from candidates who have completed their SpR interventional cardiology training and are about to start looking for consultant grade positions (or equivalent). This post will also have an on-call commitment at a 1 in 20 frequency if required by the department at the time of appointment.

    The contract will be held with the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS FT.

    Main duties of the job

    The fellow can expect to perform around first operator cases per year and develop high-level skills in adjunctive PCI tools such as IVUS, OCT, rotational atherectomy and lithoplasty as well as CTO PCI (AWE, ADR and retrograde). We have an active Impella programme. In addition to excellent clinical and procedural training all fellows are expected to participate in departmental research and educational programmes, present at national and international conferences, and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
