    Job summary

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Cardiology Admin Support to undertake a Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship. The Apprentice Cardiology Admin Support is a developmental role and will assist the Cardiology secretaries by providing comprehensive and efficient administrative support within agreed timescales. The post holder will be accountable for day-to-day admin duties and will be required to cover several different roles, to ensure we meet the Trust targets whilst studying for a relevant qualification.

    Main duties of the job

    Main duties of the job are as below:

  • Developed to assist with administrative duties to support the Cardiology division.
  • Developed to assist in the submission of highly confidential and sensitive information via various platforms, such as PAS, Prism and Patient Centre.
  • Developed to assist with the day-to day managing and bookings of the ECG diagnostic waiting lists along with reception and telephone duties.
  • Work towards sing initiative in reviewing emails and incoming mail and act where appropriate. Identify where actions need to be prioritised by the requesting Consultants, Physiologists and Division Managers.
  • Developed to complete a variety of administration duties , photocopying, shredding, laminating, and managing various mailboxes.
  • Support clinical and administrative staff re: recording of accurate RTT data on Patient Centre /PAS.
  • Developed to answering the telephone - internal/external, taking messages and action where appropriate.

    Job responsibilities

  • Supported to retrieve and safely secure patients records for investigation and reviews.
  • Maintenance and inputting patient data onto electronic databases Prism & PAS
  • Trained to work with nursing and management teams to identify any capacity issues.
  • Trained to support audit functions and data collection.
  • Supported to undertake any other duties which are deemed appropriate to the grade when requested by manager.
  • Developed to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately (support will be provided as necessary) and liaise with the relevant member of staff that it may need cascading to as a matter of urgency.
  • Trained to access several NHS databases / IT systems to secure accurate information regarding the patients for accurate dissemination.
  • Developed in prioritising a busy workload.
  • Typing of letters and sending letters out.
  • Complete the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in agreed timescales.
  • If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £ This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
  • In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
