As part of DCC's procurement transformation, we are looking for an experienced Senior Category Manager who will be responsible for building a category strategy, ensuring compliance of this strategy and providing the sourcing guidelines for the Procurement Managers.

The Senior Category Manager will report into Director of procurement.
The Senior Category Manager is responsible for establishing and building strong working relationships with C-Suite executives within the supply base and the DCC Exco (and SLT) to create, implement & maintain their DCC Category Strategy and Commercial Plan, delivering value to DCC & its stakeholders

• They are accountable for the delivery of a step change in the commercial cost for their category, measured in year-on-year efficiency and economic improvements as determined by the Head of Category Management
• The Senior Category Manager would have the responsibility for maintaining a DCC Preferred and future supplier list that could deliver DCC current and future requirements
• Providing commercial thought leadership for DCC, based on supplier market insight for their category, leading to break through thinking
• Challenging the status quo, by identifying and championing new partners and innovation to the DCC, thus enabling the business to meet future requirements at lower cost and/or improved quality/service

Creation and implementation of one or more of the following Categories of Professional Services and HR; IT Services (including Hardware, Software and Security); An understanding or Implementation of ESG via Category Management that aligns with the Net Zero aims in the UK

• Being a dynamic, forward-thinking self-starter, who can drive performance and best-practice procurement within a changing and evolving environment
• A good working knowledge of all aspects of the 'commercial lifecycle'
