    We are seeking highly motivated and forward-thinking individuals to join our successful Learning Support Assistants team.

    A range of hours available from 19 per week up to full time, 36 weeks per year, Monday to Friday (term time only).

    Salary: Grade 3 Point 10 = £22,507.70 FTE per annum.

    The primary function of this role is to provide a high quality pro-active academic, pastoral and physical learning support service for learners who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

    This rewarding role involves the delivery of one to one and small group support, both in and out of class, in collaboration with a wide range of different teaching and learning support professionals.

    Ideally, applicants will be qualified to at least Level 2 in both Maths and English and will be fully committed to providing outstanding support for all learners with additional learning support needs, so that they have every opportunity to reach their goals and aspirations.

    Along with many opportunities for role relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD), new members of the team will also be provided with an opportunity to undertake a formal Makaton qualification along with regular refresher sessions throughout the 2023/24 academic year.

    As you are starting part way through the academic year an adjustment to your monthly salary will be required for the remainder of the academic year. From the beginning of the next academic year you will receive one twelfth of your annual salary per month.

    Example

    Person A starts 1 November 2023 and is contracted to work 30 hours per week for 40 weeks, each academic year.Their last working day in the 2023/2 academic year will be 19 July 2023. Excluding bank holidays, there are 31 working weeks during this period. Their hourly rate is £9.72.

    There are 261 weekdays during the holiday year, 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023, and they have been employed for 218 of those days. Their annual leave entitlement for the 2022/23 holiday year calculates as follows,

    7.2 weeks x 30 hours per week / 261 days in year x 218 days employed = hours

    Their total pay for the remainder of the 2022/23 academic year is £10,793.19 and calculates as follows.

    Salary:30 hours per week x 31 weeks x £9.72 per hour = £9,039.60.

    Holiday Pay:180.41 hours x £9.72 per hour = £1,753.59

    There are ten months between the period 1 November 2022 to 31 August 2023, therefore their monthly salary for this period calculates to £1,079.32 per month.

    From 1 September 2023, at the start of the new year, they will receive one twelfth of his annual salary.
