Financial Controller - Air Freight

c£70,000+
Office based but with hybrid option available + free car parking + attractive benefits


This is an amazing opportunity to join a rapidly expanding finance team within the private aviation sector as the company continues its journey.

You will be able to develop and mould your team ensuring the key values of creativity, trust and collaborationare maintained.


Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Directors of the business, you will be accountable for the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely, weekly and management accounts and supporting budget monitoring and reports and preparationof VAT returns.

You will ensure that processes are adequate for financial control and compliance across the business.

Key responsibilities as financial controller will include:

  • overall management responsibility for the finance team
- preparation of accurate weekly results
- managing weekly forecasting of financial performance
- working closely with CFO and Directors with business development costs and assessing new business
- preparing monthly management accounts
- providing support for VAT reporting process
- identifying and implementing system enhancements to improve efficiency
- assisting with year-end audit and tax work


To be successful in this role as Financial Controller you will be a qualified accountant with around 10 years post qualification experience working at a senior level and ideally have worked in a similar role within the aviation or freight industry.

You willhave excellent knowledge of inventory stock management and of using various financial systems and packages.
