Acacia Groundcare Equipment Rental Lt is a growing specialist equipment rental company supplying machinery for hire to groundcare and arboriculture professionals across the South-East.

We also offer servicing and repair work from our Henfield workshop.

In addition, we have a retail outlet in Hampshire - MowersUK, specialising in the sale of garden machinery from top brand manufacturers such as Stihl, Honda and Hayter.

An opportunity has arisen to join our small and friendly team based in Henfield.

We are seeking a reliable and experienced part-time (15 hours/week) bookkeeper for general bookkeeping duties, working closely with the Managing Director.

We offer a competitive salary for the right person and dependent on experience. Days/hours of work to be agreed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Weekly Bank Reconciliation
  • Record daytoday financial transactions and complete the posting process including accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc. via journals
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Perform checks of the posting process
  • Some credit control debt chasing
  • Posting and preparing monthly payment run of purchase invoices
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
  • Some admin

About You

  • A qualified bookkeeper (AAT or similar) with a minimum of 2 years of previous experience in all aspects of bookkeeping
  • Good knowledge of the overall accounting process
  • A sound knowledge of SAGE accounting preferred but experience in other accounting packages will be considered
  • Good organisational skills to manage priorities effectively
  • A basic understanding of Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A positive mindset

Additional Information

  • This is a parttime position with flexible hours, based at our Head Office in Henfield, BN5 9QY
  • Must have own reliable transport due to semiremote location, and be able to work under own initiative in a busy environment.
