Merton Children Centre are seeking a dynamic and reliable Family Engagement Assistant.
The role will involve working under the direction of the Children's Centre Group Manager to produce efficient, effective and professional support services to Merton's Children's Centres.
The role will be 35 hours a week between 9.00am-5.00pm, Monday-Friday, on a 9 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Main purpose of job:
- To provide high quality information, advice and assistance to ensure that service users are able to access relevant information and support services depended on their needs.
- To take lead responsibility for the collection, input and maintenance of information on the Children's Centre database and to interrogate data to produce reports for managers within the service.
- To be responsible for checking the safety, cleanliness and order of the Centre on a day to day basis, dealing with minor matters and referring more serious health and safety or safeguarding issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining accurate data entry processes ensuring relevant user attendance and service data is input into databases, e.g. eStart and inhouse systems in line with GDPR policy and guidance.
- To be responsible for handling and responding to telephone calls, answering and dealing with matters on own initiative, taking messages, redirecting calls and passing calls on to colleagues as appropriate.
- To be responsible for the reception area and be the main point of contact for all visitors/callers to the centre, responding to enquiries where possible or referring to the appropriate member of staff as required.
- Meeting and greeting all visitors, ensuring they are welcomed in a polite, friendly and efficient manner.
- To support the Group Centre Manager and Family Engagement Coordinators in the organisation and coordination of events in all children centres.
- To support the team with ensuring information, leaflets and notice boards around the Children's Centre are up to date, ensuring high quality display, presentation and that they are informative and interesting for parents and visitors.
- To comply with Health and Safety regulations carrying out checks as directed and ensuring that all incidents are reported to the appropriate member of staff.
- To support the organisation of team meeting setup as necessary.
- To maintain effective links with the local community, dealing sensitively with members of all communities represented locally.
