It is an exciting time to come and join the Sepura team. We are on the lookout
for a Head of Electronics to play a key role within the Development team.
As an experienced leader managing Electronics engineers you will have a strong
hands-on technical background with the energy and motivational skills to shape
the way the RF and Baseband teams deliver products to market and define the
Sepura Electronics roadmap.

Your role
As Sepura Head of Electronics you will be based in Cambridge and will lead and
inspire Sepura's electronic design teams, consisting of RF; Baseband and
Technicians. You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of the
electronics for the next generation of mission critical radio products and
systems from conception through to production, whilst maintaining the current
range of products via design improvements and updates and evolving company
processes as we move into a new technology. A proven track record of
energising and motivating teams to consistently deliver will be essential to your
success.
Your day to day
Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the
world. Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically
for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges.
There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by
your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across
the business. As Head of Electronics, activities you will be responsible for
include:
- Manage and technically guide a talented pool of engineers to deliver
- Create an environment with a focus on delivery, ownership and driving for
- Provide technical input directly to projects. Set and review team
- Coordinate with project managers and department heads to ensure
meet project delivery timescales in line with business needs.
- Ensure customer support issues are managed in line with business
- Liaise with the CTO, Advanced Technology Group and Product Managers
Electronics roadmap.
- Set and review objectives for the engineering teams to help them grow
strategy.
- Ensure that the skills and experience of the Electronics teams is mapped
quality Mission Critical communications products to meet the roadmap.
- Develop plans to ensure the appropriate skills are available / developed to
- Ensure processes are adhered to and identify and implement process
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement across the development teams
measurement of KPIs.
- Liaise with other development and business teams to support
investigations.
- Communicate opportunities and risks to project stakeholders.
This role will require security clearance.
What you need to succeed
Qualifications:
- Batchelors degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering
Experience and skills
- The role suits someone with hands on design experience of developing
technology.

Hardware Development:You will come from a HW development
background with extensive experience of HW based development projects
from concept through to delivery in medium volume manufacturing
environments.

Hardware Architecture:You will have a good understanding of HW
systems and architectures with hands-on experience of architecting and
designing solutions.

Decision Making:Able to demonstrate examples of taking responsibility
for making pragmatic decisions.

People Management:You are a well-practiced people manager with
extensive experience of setting goals, managing performance, and
motivating technical teams and individuals to deliver.

Problem Solving:You will be experienced in delivering solutions to
complex problems through a logical process and well versed in the
practice of change management.

Team Leadership & Management:Exceptional team leadership and
interpersonal skills are essential including recruitment, mentoring &
coaching, performance management, motivation, technical guidance and
arbitration, workforce and resource planning.
